Every year, TakeON! development partner, OBP, presents it's own Outrageously Brilliant Partner (see what we did there?) Awards to the best performing employee, business partner and client. We've already made mention elsewhere of the 2013 winners of the first two categories, but we've saved the best for last.
Yesterday TakeON! partner Blacksmith presented the Outrageously Brilliant Partner client award to New Zealand (NZ) Post for their customised version of TakeON! called Activate!
NZ Post L&D specialist, Milena Velez had this to say, "Thank you for recognising the effort and passion that 30+ people bring to this programme. To say that we are thrilled, honoured and humbled is a huge understatement. We are truly elated and proud.
"I'm reading 'Lean In' by Sheryl Sandberg. One segment talks about the Harvard Business School coming up with a communal definition of leadership: 'Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.' This definition struck a cord. Your programmes, and the outstanding support from Blacksmith, enable us to affect leaders at NZ Post in their leadership journeys and ensure that the impact lasts."
Milena's comments were echoed by NZ Post head of L&D, Peter Taylor, "The award is a great reflection of the successful partnership between ourselves, Blacksmith and TakeON! and so it's something we can share in the success of together. Thanks for the recognition and I know through our ongoing partnership in the Activate! programme that Milena and the FrontRunner team will continue to change the lives of our leaders making us a better organisation and ultimately a better New Zealand."
Congratulations to everyone involved.
